Are you planning your wedding with a rustic theme? For this special day, you want a beautiful bridal bouquet, but you’re unsure how to choose flowers that fit the bohemian style?
I’m here to help you.
When preparing for your wedding ceremony, choosing the bridal bouquet is a crucial step. This small bouquet will set the tone for the rest of your floral decor and will be featured in most of your photographs!
Today, I’m sharing my skills and knowledge as a professional florist so you can create the bouquet of your dreams.
The rustic wedding bouquet features a very natural look that evokes memories of childhood flower bouquets from the fields. However, it should be created with care, paying attention to the choice of ribbon for the handle as well as the selection of flowers. You can choose either dried flowers or fresh flowers (depending on the season), such as Cosmos, Astrance, Alchemilla, Dahlia, Chamomile, and many more. The favored foliage for the rustic trend is Eucalyptus, which can be combined with other greenery.

What is a Rustic-Chic or Bohemian Bouquet?
Very trendy in recent years, the rustic style has brought a breath of freshness to the events industry.
In the following lines, I’ll share the secrets with you.
A Loose, Dreamy Bouquet
Like all wildflower arrangements, the bride’s bouquet allows nature to take center stage.
With this trend, we’re moving away from the strictly round bouquets that were once in style, to embrace the more relaxed, loosely arranged bouquet style.
This arrangement has a less defined shape: the plants are not all at the same level in the bouquet, and the upper hemisphere of the bouquet is only suggested. In so-called โdeconstructedโ bouquets, it may even be completely absent!
A loose bridal bouquet is one that brings to mind the wildflower bouquets we made as children or that our grandparents created.
Plants are arranged freely and are not constrained by a structure or overly tight fastening of the attachment.
It’s a wild and free bouquet, just like the bride carrying it!
A bouquet that’s more impressive than the classics
Another difference with the traditional round bouquet is its size: whereas it was customary to create a small bouquet that matched the bride’s frame, the bohemian bouquet is, on the contrary, quite spacious.
๐ Throughout the day, you might find it challenging to hold onto this bouquet. If you’d like to avoid this inconvenience, I recommend having two bouquets made.
The first, the larger one, is the one you’ll carry for the photos and the wedding ceremony.
The second, smaller bouquet, can be tossed into the air for other young women as you exit the church or carried for the rest of the time to keep you from being too weighed down.
A bouquet with exquisite finishing touches
Just because a wildflower bouquet looks like it was casually picked and arranged during a stroll in the fields doesn’t mean it should be overlooked!
On the contrary, this type of creation requires special care from the person making it. First and foremost, it’s important to choose well-matched flowers that are fully blossomed and free of blemishes.
The assembly should be done consistently, while the finishing touches require special attention.
Therefore, I recommend choosing a beautiful ribbon for the handle, one that complements both the flowers in your bouquet and your outfit and accessories.
It’s the little details that make the difference! ๐
