For a larger bouquet with around ten flowers, you should budget at least 40 euros. The price of a floral arrangement depends on several factors: the season, the types of flowers included, its complexity, the packaging, and any potential delivery fees. To save money, opt for inexpensive seasonal flowers and simple packaging.

Based on the Type of Point of Sale
The first factor that will determine the price is the category of business in which the flowers are sold. Indeed, franchise flower shops (like Jardin des Fleurs and Monceau) and large garden centers can order their quantities in bulk, which allows them to secure better prices from suppliers. On the other hand, small independent florists only order for their own stores, which doesn’t always enable them to negotiate these costs effectively.
Depending on the Location of the Business
This parameter is directly related to how flowers are delivered: they typically arrive by truck, which incurs costs for labor and fuel. If you are on an island, such as Corsica, or in a hard-to-reach location like the mountains, importing flowers can be more complicated, resulting in higher delivery costs.
👉 The overseas territories are a unique case: many of them are located in tropical regions where numerous exotic flowers grow naturally. As a result, these flowers are much more affordable than traditional flowers (like roses, tulips, etc.), unlike in the mainland.
Depending on the Season
As we know, flowers don’t grow in the wild all year round. To have roses in the middle of February, they need to be grown in heated greenhouses, which raises production costs. During winter, the most affordable flowers will be those that grow naturally at this time of year and can withstand the cold: Tulips, Irises, Hyacinths, Daffodils…
👉 Exotic flowers, which grow in latitudes opposite to ours, are usually less expensive in winter in metropolitan areas because it’s summer in the regions where they are cultivated during that time.

Therefore, easy-to-grow flowers like carnations or gerberas are generally more accessible than larger flowers like lilies, which need particular attention. Large flowers and exotic flowers are typically the most expensive.

A flower bouquet is the product of an artisan’s work: the florist. While some simple bouquets can be made in just a few minutes, others bouquets that require special care can take several hours to create. This is especially true for unique bridal bouquets (like cascading ones, etc.) or those arranged on a structure. In such cases, the price of the bouquet accounts for the artisan’s labor.
Depending on the Type of Packaging
Finally, the way the bouquet is presented can affect the price. If it’s just a simple bouquet wrapped in paper, the price shouldn’t normally increase. However, if you request it to be packaged in a water bubble so that the flowers can continue to drink and stay fresh, this requires special packaging, which may add an extra charge to the price of the bouquet. The same goes for any greeting cards, ribbons with inscriptions, and so on.
How Much Does a Flower Bouquet Cost on Average?
When you order it from a florist, the price of your bouquet will be determined based on all the factors mentioned earlier. However, there are average prices that you can typically find among most artisans:
- Small simple bouquet with five to six flowers: between $20 and $30,
- Medium bouquet, with about ten flowers: between $30 and $40,
- Large bouquet, with around twenty flowers: between $60 and $100,
- Exceptional bouquet, with about a hundred flowers: price on request, typically several hundred dollars.
👉 If you want to use a floral delivery service (like Interflora, Florajet, etc.) that takes care of sending your order to the nearest florist to the recipient of your bouquet, be prepared to pay at least an additional charge of $10 per order.
How to Save Money?
To save some money without having to reduce the size of your bouquet, here are a few tips that I’d like to share with you:
🔸 If you want to send a bouquet to someone who is far away, search online for the local florists and reach out to them directly. Most of them have a remote payment option, which will help you avoid delivery fees.
🔸 When choosing the flowers for your bouquet, go for bold, yet affordable flowers like Carnations or Germinis. You can also add some Gypsophila: these are small white flowers that will help “fluff up” your bouquet. Lastly, there are small roses that are less expensive and some florists sell them in bulk.
🔸 If you’re looking to buy flowers at the best possible price, aim for the period from May to September, when prices are at their lowest.
🔸 Ask your florist for a simple wrapping and plan ahead with a small card to attach to the bouquet, so you won’t have to buy one on-site.
How much should you budget for additional services?
