Start by creating a V-shaped pattern on your hood, attaching the center of your tulle ribbon just above the license plate and securing the ends to the side mirrors. You can then embellish the entire arrangement with ribbons for pretty finishing touches. These can match your bridal bouquet, your wedding colors, or the car’s color. Additionally, you can give this decoration a modern twist by replacing the tulle with burlap or by adorning your car with a floral garland or arrangement.

How to Decorate Your Car with Tulle for a Wedding?
Traditional and romantic wedding decor, tulle is a fabric perfectly suited for decorating a car. It recalls the wedding dress, won’t damage the paint, and is easy to cut or tie. In the following lines, I will guide you on how to create this decoration yourself, easily.
What Should You Prepare?
To decorate a vehicle, the easiest option is to purchase tulle that comes in rolls several meters long. Choose a width of about 6 to 8 inches.
For a single car, plan for at least 20 meters of tulle to create a classic wedding decoration.
Also, be sure to gather some supplies:
- durable clear nylon thread
- matching ribbons in the car color and tulle
- sharp scissors for cutting
Before decorating your car, be sure to wash the entire body thoroughly, and if possible, use a wash program that includes a polishing wax. This will make your vehicle shine beautifully for the big day!
How to proceed?
➡️ To start, park your vehicle in a clear area so that you can move around freely.
➡️ Next, start with the front hood: attach wire at the radiator area (above the license plate) so you can later tie tulle at this spot. Also, make a wire tie around the base of each side mirror.
➡️ Cut a strip of tulle that is at least three times the length of the hood. Secure the center of this strip to the radiator using the nylon thread you previously placed there.
➡️ Next, attach each end to a rearview mirror, ensuring that the tulle is slightly taut. You should achieve a beautiful symmetrical V made of tulle on the hood of your vehicle.
➡️ It’s now time to move on to the knots. You need to create at least 3 of them:
- a rather large one for the front of the vehicle, which will be placed at the tip of the V, using the wire attachment created earlier
- one for each side mirror, which will be smaller in size
🎀 To create a bow, start by cutting small pieces of tulle about 12 to 16 inches long (for a large bow). Make sure to have at least 3 pieces for each bow. Pinch the center of each piece by folding it accordion-style to form a butterfly shape. Bundle all these layered pieces together to create a beautiful bow that somewhat resembles the pom-poms used by cheerleaders! Then, simply secure it in place with nylon thread wherever you like.
👉 To add some dimension, you can layer different colored tulle to create your bows.
👉 If the central link is too complicated to secure, you can use thin wire. Just be careful not to scratch the car’s body with it later on!

Where to Place It?
You can tie knots with your ribbons:
- over the tulle knots, on each side mirror
- at the front of your vehicle, at the tip of the V
- evenly spaced along the lengths of tulle that decorate your hood
